EN Summary: Progress log on the Classic French jacket until today’s afternoon (all during my son's nap time!) and a hard time choosing between buttons.

---

EN: Jacket is coming along nicely but I still have a ton of work to do, so I will try to keep this short ;o). The other day I found these crystal with embedded metal buttons and I began to question myself if these ones would suit the jacket better. I could only find nine passemanerie buttons, all the same size, so there are enough for two on each cuff and five along the jacket’s front (there was also a single one left in a smaller size, which was offered to me by the shop attendant). The metal ones are considerably thinner and I found it in both regular and smaller size so I bought five regular and eight smaller (two for each cuff and four for the buttons). On the photo above, it looks like the passemanerie buttons are more proportional, because of the weight of the trim; on the boucle this effect is not so evident:

EN: Even so, most people on Facebook and on Instagram liked the passamanerie buttons better. I like them both really and I acknowledge that the metal ones are more practical; they are thinner so there will be smaller buttonholes; also thinner buttons won’t stress the buttonholes as much.

EN: Concerning the jacket’s progress, during my son’s afternoon nap I was able to disassemble the muslin, transfer all the alterations to both sides, mark the grain lines on the right side of the muslin and trim off all the seam and hem allowances; the muslin is ready to be used as a pattern for cutting the fashion fabric. Let’s see how much progress I’ll be able to accomplish during the weekend!

---
